Basic Hot Keys and Commands

The MMORPG Ragnarok Online provides players different Hot Keys to make the game play a wee bit easier. There are also several Commands in Ragnarok Online that every player should be aware of.

Hot Keys:

1) Alt + E - Inventory Window
2) Alt + A - Stats Window
3) Alt + Q - Equipment Window
4) Alt + O - Options Window
5) Alt + S - Skill Tree Window
6) F12 - Skill/Item Slot Window
7) F1 to F9 - Use Skill/Item in Slot
8) Insert - Sit/Stand
9) Alt + C - Create Chat Room
10) Alt + M - Emotions Window

Basic Commands:

All commands in Ragnarok Online starts with a forward slash.

1) /noctrl - Toggles continuous attack
2) /nc - Same as /noctrl
3) /noshift - Toggles buffing monsters as well as attacking fellow players
4) /ns - Same as /noshift
5) /help - Lists the different commands in Ragnarok Online
6) /leave - Leave party
7) /organize - Create a party
8) /where - shows details of your location (e.g. Map Name and Coordinates)

Novice

The novice character is the most basic character in the MMORPG Ragnarok Online. When you first enter the game, you will be asked to create a novice character with Base Level 1 and Job Level 1. You will be given the options to give it a name that you want, the hair style that you prefer as well as the hair color.

In the creation of your novice, you will be presented with a hexagon with the following statitistics: STR, AGI, VIT, INT, DEX, and LUK. Depending on what type of job your character would be taking on later in the game, configure the statistics. Once your novice is created, it will then be brought to the training grounds to learn the basics of Ragnarok Online and the world of Rune Midgard.

A novice can reach a maximum of 10 Job Levels. Each Job Level lets you level up your very first skill which is the Basic Skill. Each Basic Skill will give your novice different abilities:

Basic Skill Level 1: Able to trade with other players
Basic Skill Level 2: Able to use emoticons
Basic Skill Level 3: Able to sit down
Basic Skill Level 4: Able to create chat room
Basic Skill Level 5: Able to join parties
Basic Skill Level 6: Able to use Kafra Storage
Basic Skill Level 7: Able to organize parties
Basic Skill Level 8: Able to use alignment system (not implemented)
Basic Skill Level 9: Able to change jobs

All of this skill will be carried over once your novice changes its job.

TIPS:

1) Before creating your novice and manipulating the stat hexagon, you need to plan first. Know what kind of character you want and its corresponding build. A mistake during the creation of your novice can either make or break your future character.

2) Use stat calculators for Ragnarok Online so that you can plan your character better. You can use the search terms "ragnarok stat calculator doddler" to get the address of doddler's Ragnarok Online stat calculator.

Ragnarok Online is the first MMORPG introduced in the Philippines. I did not have any idea of its existence until a friend of invited me to play it with him. It was a few years after the beta stage of Rangarok Online that I started playing the game. A few days of trial and error and I was instantly hooked. This was how I started my addiction.

As of now, I only play Ragnarok Online every once in a while. Though the thought of the free-2-play servers Valkyrie and Valhalla is quite tempting, I try to control myself so as not to be addicted again.

This blog is all about the game Ragnarok Online. I will be sharing to you my experiences back when I was still playing the game. I might just be able to give some "not-so-updated" hints and pointers that could help newbies in playing the game Ragnarok Online.
